What is a spreadsheet? A spreadsheet is an interactive table used for the purpose of organization.
Various types of spreadsheets? Simple (Gray Cell since excel 2.0)
Excel tables (2007)
and PivotTables.
Excel is a very beneficial software for businesses as they often deal with extremely sizeable chunks of data in which they need a reliable and compatible tool to work with (excel).
Global context and Atl: Scientific and technical innovation? and... communication for the ATL skills. Now I will list some features that excel provides:
-Pivot tables: these summarize the entered data into rows with headings. There are different ways for the data to be summarized (from a database). You can also start from scratch and create your own pivot table. To access this tool, one must go to insert, tables, recommended: PivotTables.
-Basic math calculations: another excellent feature that makes this software so popular amongst professionals is its capability fo solving simple math equations. By typing any calculation directly into a cell, excel will immediately calculate it for you!
-Charts of mixed type: this innovative feature combines two different kinds of charts to form a single one. It is a clever and time-saving way of displaying data! Also, it is easier to read.
-Flash fill: this is a time-saving way of filling names into cells! After recognizing a pattern, Microsoft excel will automatically fill in the empty cells of the table for you! Pretty handy.
-Index matching: this is a helpful feature for exploring deep into a displayed table. Its function is to match corresponding cells!
-Formulas: This is a great one! 50% of excel users say that this feature is their favorite out of all excel has to offer. These formulas ca be transmitted into cells in order to figure out and sort out data.
-Filtering data: very helpful when working with chunks of text in tables. With this handy feature, excel easily sorts data for you with the click of a button! No more sitting around and filtering data for yourself...
-Font sizes, style, and bold/italics: this feature also apparent on practically all other Microsoft developed software helps the user differentiate between text and provide an all time more personal experience.
-Forecasting: this feature incorporates data from the user's history into tables of current use.
-Sunburst charts: similar to pie charts, this great user-friendly design is a new and cool addition to excel.
All in all, I completely believe that without a doubt, Microsoft excel is one of Microsoft's most convenient and developed software and more and more pupils should be informed about it's excellent features! So handy.
-1st feature: Extending cells. This is a very helpful feature as it helps organise the table.
-2nd feature highlighting text: helpful to differentiate between features.
-3rd feature: inserting pictures. This would be helpful to express more data!
Microsoft excel would be helpful in math to calculate formulas. I have kickstarted my career on excel as I have already started exploring features and becoming familiar with them which would be extremely beneficial for the future!
-4th feature: adding shapes. By adding shapes such as arrows, they help annotate text.
-5th feature: default themes. They help minimalise the amount of time that users spend designing a fitting spreadsheet for their type of work.
-6th feature: notes. These are good if someone else, example a manager, teacher or director wants to give comments on the body of work.
-7th feature: lists. These lists are a very special and creative feature as they are customizable and helps the user to easily organize.
-8th feature: graphs. These charts are easily accessed via the insert menu and can be customized to fit the user's preferences.
-9th feature: pivot tables. They help organize and are most ms excel users' favourite feature.
-10th feature: cycles. Very helpful to recreate and show a continuous process!
