Term 1: Design Technology (2016-2017)

INTRODUCTION

Hello,

My name is Jasmine Asadi. I enjoy using my mobile phone as a source of entertainment and a camera. When out an about, especially on holiday, I use my cameras to take beautiful pictures of my surroundings. When I get some free time, I usually upload the pictures to my social networking pages. I enjoy using apps such as Whatsapp, phone, Instagram and snapchat on my phone.

I also enjoy using my laptop as another source of entertainment. I usually play online games or other video games on my laptop. Sometimes I access my email and social networking pages using my laptop. 

During the holidays, I like to practice my hobby, horse-riding. I usually take nice pictures of myself in action then share with friends and family. I like to do this so that I can reflect on my passion and save the picture as a memory.

When at school, I use my laptop for research. I also use Microsoft Word in many classes, such as Digital Design which I really love. At home I use my phone to research as well as it is more portable and easy to use.

I hope that I have taught you a little about myself and what I do with my electronic devices. I hope to find new ways in which my portable devices can come in handy.

Reflection for smart goal:
-I have tried my hardest to study well and participate in class so far
-I made this goal using word. I took one image then manipulated it to create a border, then I changed the page colour.
-I will continue to try my best and participate in class

I created this MYP Design Cycle in class as a group:

SCRATCH MYP DESIGN CYCLE:

REFLECTION:

This is my MYP Design Cycle. I created it using a coding program called Scratch. I chose this software as I figured it would be a creative, fun and interactive project. I first started with a basic layout:
-Information in text form
-Pictures and backdrops
-A Scratch character, then, I added new features such as sound (voice, animal sounds and music.)
I more about the MYP Design cycle in the process of creating my project. I found out new ways in which Scratch can be used for, such as recording your voice and adding new Scratch characters.
If I were to do my project again, I would add examples for each of the attributes.
